About the Founder
Sidra Shaikh, a proud Karachi-ite, is the visionary behind Ananas. After completing her MBA, she began her career at a leading fashion retail brand as an Executive in Operations and Design. During her time there, Sidra gained invaluable industry experience and honed her understanding of fashion trends and consumer needs.
The turning point came when her employer tasked her with sourcing matching pajamas for an “It Girl” luncheon in Dubai for a new launch. It was then that Sidra realized the untapped potential of loungewear in Pakistan—a niche market that no one was actively exploring. Recognizing this gap, she decided to take a bold step. Leaving her secure job behind, Sidra pursued her passion for creating something new and meaningful of her own.
In October 2018, Ananas was born—a brand dedicated to redefining everyday comfort while ensuring style, inclusivity, and accessibility. What started as a loungewear label has since expanded into a versatile fashion brand offering a wide variety of pieces for men and women. Sidra’s journey is a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and unwavering commitment to bringing something fresh to the fashion landscape in Pakistan.
